Sunset on Phu Quoc

Posted by: Richard | Comments (0)

Amy & Tom are from the UK and took a break during their great adventure of exploring Asia to stop by the “unspoilt” PQ sunsetfor a couple of days.  The best thing about Phu Quoc had to be the sunsets, which made Long beach the perfect location. The handful of restaurants on the beach had set up tables and chairs facing the ocean to capitalize on this.”

Malinsaga is 33-years-old, from Sweden who quit her job as a scientist in London last year to fulfill her dream to travel in SouthEast Asia.  She was pleased to be able to walk along the beach for km after km of white sand and rarely see a house or another person.  She stayed in a “super clean, big bungalow with bathroom and kitchen” for $8 US per night.

Geographic location with a phallic name

Posted by: Richard | Comments (0)

mark-noa-in-duong-dongThe travels of two newlyweds, Mark and Noa, around the world made a brief but eventful stop for Christmas in PQ.  They enjoy the Super Dong then find a private beach at the end of civilization — unfortunately, a screw in their motorscoters’ tire screws up their enjoyment.

Lots of experiences in a short time

Posted by: Richard | Comments (0)

Bernhard Gruber from Austria combined a lot into a short visit to PQ.  He had an extended motorbike ride around the island, found a fabulous beach (Bai Sao); met an authentic phu quo dog, enjoyed fresh pineapple on the beach, discovered great pho, cheap beer then had a wonderful massage (for 3 euro per hour).

Sometimes the only westerners around

Posted by: Richard | Comments (1)

annaka-on-motorbike-300x224Annek and friend, Gabriela, left Chau Doc and took a bus to Rach Gia and then a boat from there to PQ.  They found Lam Ha Eco Resort, “a beautiful place to stay, maybe one of the nicest rooms I have stayed in during my travels and for a good price ($15US), with a garden setting, and about 50 metres from a pristine beach.  We arrived in the late afternoon so all we did that day was find a good spot on the almost-deserted beach to watch the sunset before going for dinner and a few quiet drinks at one of the beachfront restaurants.”  The next couple days they toured the island via motorbike, went snorkeling and found they were often then only two westerners around.  Her blog contains 25 excellent photos.

Luke and Heli’s Adventure

Posted by: Richard | Comments (0)

Luke & Heli have a rather not-fun journey from Cambodia to Rach Gia, VietNam – but “Luckily, the island has more than madea-typical-afternoon-on-phu-quoc-island up for it and we have spent the past few days sleeping, eating, reading in a hammock and chilling out on the beach.”

A veritable paradise on earth

Posted by: Richard | Comments (0)

Kostas from Geneva was pleased with his bungalow, 10 meters from the sea.  “I let the windows open at night, you just heard the waves – and the only thing preventing me to see the carpet of stars above my head is the light of my computer screen” he says.
